Bootscoot into the long weekend

The countdown to the long weekend and one of South East Queensland’s premier music events, the 2016 Urban Country Music Festival, is officially on.

More than 50 of Australia’s best country music artists will saddle up to help get the festival started in Caboolture from Friday, April 29 to Sunday, May 1.

Queensland’s own James Blundell is among the acts who will headline the new Friday night Bootscoot ‘n’ BBQ concert.

For James this will be his first Urban Country Music Festival appearance.

“I’m so excited to be part of the Urban Country Music Festival this year. It’s a festival I’ve been wanting to get involved in for a while now. I can’t promise my boot scooting will be world class, but I do cook a mean snag on the BBQ,” said James Blundell.

The festival will continue on Saturday with plenty of free entertainment and activities in the Caboolture Historical Village including the Performax Haval Village Stage.

Saturday night’s Main Concert, undercover at the Queensland State Equestrian Centre, featuring multi-award winning musicians Troy Cassar-Daley, Shane Nicholson and Amber Lawrence.

There is something for everyone at the Urban Country Music Festival with both day and weekend tickets available.

Friday night Bootscoot and BBQ Day tickets are $15.00 for Children (5 – 17 years) and $35.00 for adults.

Saturday Main Concert Day tickets are $35.00 for children (5 – 17 years) and $80.00 for adults.

Main Concert VIP Day tickets* are $130.00 which includes priority seating in QSEC for the main concert, food and drinks and select Urban Country Merchandise.

Discounted pre-purchase tickets will be available online until 9am Friday, April 29.

The free Urban Blaze Concert on Sunday, May 1st rounds up the weekend with popular local sibling duo Innocent Eve and a return performance by 2014 Voice of Urban winner Wal Neilsen.

Dramatic scene as teenager grievously injured

A 14 year old girl has been charged with grievous bodily harm after an incident with a 15 year old girl at Morayfield
Shopping Centre on Friday the 8th of April around 6pm.

The victim was put into an induced coma after surgery to repair a stab wound inflicted to her torso, which also damaged the outer layer of her heart at the Royal Brisbane Hospital.

The victim has since woken from her coma over the weekend.
