Are you Bushfire prepared? PREPARE. ACT. SURVIVE.
0As part of joint Local and State Government preparations for this year’s Severe Weather Season, Queensland Fire and Emergency Services and Moreton Bay Regional Council are hosting Get Ready workshops.
You are invited to attend a free presentation including sausage sizzle in your community to learn how you can better protect your family and your home for a bushfire, severe storm or flood.
Local fire crews, emergency services and council officers will host the workshop to provide advice about how to get bushfire, storm and flood prepared. Officers will be on hand to answer any questions you may have about your property.
Research across Australia has identified that many communities are vulnerable to the damaging effects of bushfires. Even homes that are some distance from vegetation can still be vulnerable to the effects of flying embers from fire. Research has also shown that by taking a few actions early in the season you can greatly increase the chances of your home surviving a bushfire.
You are encouraged to attend your local presentation to help get ready for this year’s Severe Weather Season.
